Shop around for your dress in November and December. These months are usually the slowest for weddings and you should be able to get a great deal.

Borrow a friend or family members old wedding dress and have it altered to fit you.

Saving money on your Entertainment

You can save big if you choose to have prerecorded music played at your wedding instead of a band.

You can easily download music and have it burned to a cd and your ready to go. Just make sure you have a big enough entertainment system to play the music as loud as you will need it to be.

Do something unique when choosing your wedding entertainment. Hire a comedian, clown, or magician they will definitely add to the entertainment and your guests will always remember your unique wedding.

Make your own invitations with your laser printer or choose some nice paper and have your local print shop print them out for you and hand deliver them.

Do not wear a tuxedo if you are having a beach wedding or outdoor wedding. Choose a nice pair of casual pants and a button up shirt instead.

Schedule the actual wedding later on in the evening so you can avoid the very costly cocktail hour and start the dinner right away.

If you know a friend with skills in calligraphy ask them if they would create a dinner scroll. The dinner scroll should list the table number and name of your guests and it will save you a huge amount of money compared to buying printed name plates.

Instead of renting a limo as your transportation ask your friends with SUV’s to provide some transportation. Also you could ask your friend with the nicest car if you can use it as your get away car instead of renting a limo.

Ask friends and family if they have memberships any place where they have a rental hall. If they have a membership you can usually get the hall free or very minimal price for your hall.

Where ever you have your wedding ask if you can bring your own food or if you have to use their caterer. If you can bring your own food you can hand pick all of your food and you do not have to worry about the costly $30-75 per person.

Invite friends and family over and have a small brain storming meeting and get ideas of how you can save money on your wedding.
